Theodoros Aggelopoulos also known as Theo Aggelopoulos died after a car accident. The greek filmmaker was hit by a motorcycle while shooting his new film The other sea (the theme of which was the financial problems people face).
Some info about his life.
Theo Aggelopoulos studied Law in Greece. Then he continued his studies at the University of Sorbonne, France, but he gave in his passion ; movies. He made his name with the 1975 film The travelling Players. His mostly known film is The Ulysses' Gaze.
I would like to say that I am so sad about the death of Theo Aggelopoulos. I am from Greece and the only way to escape the depressing reality is art. The Aggelopoulos was maybe the only one who made us proud for being Greek
